Inclusive playgrounds – INKLUViSION: everyone plays together

Breaking down barriers starts with the youngest. Children are curious, open, and full of a spirit of discovery. They all want to experience and explore the world – and they want to do it together. This is where INKLUViSION comes in. We have a vision! There should be more inclusive playgrounds where every child is welcome, regardless of their abilities or special characteristics. Playgrounds where all children can go on an adventure together. Playgrounds that are places of encounter, where discovery and togetherness are at the heart of the experience. We advocate for fun without artificial boundaries, in places where diversity is the greatest strength.

Fun for all children

At FHS, as one of the leading manufacturers of outdoor play equipment, we have made it our mission to create such spaces. We design and build inclusive play equipment that is accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Because we believe: Playing together connects people, breaks down prejudices, and fosters understanding. Our vision: "Everyone plays together" – on playgrounds that make the joy and fun of togetherness come alive.

Why are inclusive playgrounds important?

Inclusion goes far beyond the concept of accessibility. It means that every person has the opportunity to participate in all social activities without being excluded. Inclusion creates a space where diversity is seen as an enrichment. Inclusive playgrounds, in particular, are an ideal place to make inclusion a tangible experience – here, children meet, learn from each other, and embark on adventures together. Inclusive playgrounds provide not only space for play but are also places for exchange and interaction – for children as well as for accompanying adults.

An inclusive playground is more than just its play equipment

Playgrounds as places of encounter and relaxation: Our inclusive play spaces offer more than adventure. They are places of encounter, where children and adults can spend time together, exchange ideas, and learn from each other. We create retreat and relaxation areas that allow children to unwind and process their experiences.
These retreats are particularly important for children with autism or other sensory impairments. Here, they can recharge for new adventures. At the same time, we create communication areas for caregivers, parents, and supervisors, providing plenty of opportunities for exchange and networking.

Play equipment that connects

The foundation of inclusive playgrounds

The heart of INKLUViSION is our inclusive play equipment. It can be used in a variety of ways. We consider different abilities, for instance, by developing play equipment that is also accessible to children in wheelchairs. But that’s not all: Children with sensory impairments or those who prefer different types of play will also find suitable options.

The Two-Sense and Two-Way Principle

Our play equipment is designed to appeal to various senses and promote individual motor skills as well as social interaction. All our play equipment follows the Two-Sense Principle: Our equipment combines, for example, visual or acoustic with haptic or tactile stimuli, making play exciting for all children.
